Against all odds, the Black Stars reached the quarters finals of the 2010 world cup in South Africa and was one penalty away in stoppage time from getting through to the semis but Asamoah Gyan failed to convert and Ghana ended up losing in a penalty shootout.

The Black Stars have been busy recruiting players as they have managed to lure the likes of Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey to switch their allegiances.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson Odoi, who is currently on loan at German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen could also represent Ghana.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is also being targeted by the Black Stars as they look to gather the best squad possible ahead of their opening match in November.

Here is a potential starting XI for Ghana.

GK – Joe Wollacott (Charlton Athletic)

RB – Tariq Lamptey (Brighton)

CB – Mohammed Salisu (Southampton)

CB – Daniel Amartey (Leicester City)

LB – Gideon Mensah (Auxerre)

CDM – Thomas Partey (Arsenal)

CDM – Iddrisu Baba (RCD Mallorca)

RM – Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace)

CAM – Mohammed Kudus (Ajax)

LM – Kamaldeen Sulemana (Rennes)

ST – Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao)

Mohammed Kudus could be the next big star after his impressive performances for Ajax so far this season. Kudus scored the equaliser with a stunning finish at Anfield against Liverpool earlier in the month.

Though the Dutch champions lost the match 2-1 after a late Joel Matip winner, Kudus drew plaudits from many fans for his performance.
