Bristol City is reluctant to sell star striker Antoine Semenyo in the ongoing winter transfer window due to hamstring injuries to both Andi Weimann and Tommy Conway.
Selling Antoine Sememyo will leave Bristol City light in attack and they might not get a replacement in to boost their front line.
Another factor is The Cider Army is six points ahead of the bottom three, and losing a player of Semenyo’s quality would further aggravate the squad’s weaknesses.
Semenyo’s form has improved significantly since the turn of the year, with three goals and an assist in his last four games.
He went 17 games without a goal earlier in the season after missing pre-season due to a shin injury incurred on international duty but has shown flashes in recent weeks that he is very much coming back to his best.
Antoine Semenyo’s Cider Army contract expires in 18 months. Bristol City triggered the one-year option in his contract last month to provide them with financial assurance in the future.
