6 Chelsea stars desire to ditch Stamford Bridge this summer

Following Chelsea’s disappointing 2022/23 season, it is rumored that up to six of the club’s players have made the decision to leave Stamford Bridge.

The club is preparing for a fresh start under the guidance of newly appointed permanent manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino’s confirmation as Chelsea’s new manager earlier this week marked the end of Graham Potter’s tenure, who was dismissed in February.

As reported by AP, Pochettino’s primary task upon arrival will be to initiate a summer rebuilding process at Stamford Bridge.

The 51-year-old already has his work cut out, especially considering how underwhelming campaign this season that saw them finish

Part of Poch’s rebuild plan involves shipping out players regarded as surplus to requirements to make room for new arrivals.

6 Chelsea stars ready to quit

However, it seems some players have already made the decision to quit this summer rather than wait for the axe to fall on them.

The Telegraph claims that “more than half-a-dozen” players have been “pretty open” with the desire to quit Stamford Bridge this summer.

Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headline a list of players who have been linked with an exit.

Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and captain Cesar Azpilicueta are also reportedly expected to depart the club.

Ziyech was previously linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, while Auba could reunite with Barcelona again.

Mount, meanwhile, is wanted by a string of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Elsewhere, Ruben Loftus-Cheek appeared to say his final goodbyes to fans during Chelsea’s final game of the season against Newcastle ahead of a proposed move to the Serie A.

Pochettino approves first Chelsea signing

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Mauricio Pochettino has okayed Chelsea’s pursuit of Sporting Lisbon star Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte is wanted at Stamford Bridge to partner with Enzo Fernandez in the central midfield department.

Pochettino has been charged with the responsibility of undertaking a major rebuild at the west London club.
