Crystal Palace, Manchester United fined following Old Trafford brawl

For failing to keep their players under control during the Premier League match at Old Trafford, Manchester United and Crystal Palace have each been fined £55,000.

During the second half of the game, a large brawl broke out, during which Casemiro was dismissed for placing his hands around Will Hughes’ neck.

Jeffrey Schlupp’s forceful challenge on Antony that resulted in both players receiving yellow cards set off the incident.

An FA spokesperson said: “Manchester United and Crystal Palace respectively accepted and denied that they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from provocative behaviour.

“An independent Regulatory Commission subsequently found the charge against Crystal Palace proven and imposed both of the clubs’ fines.”

United, who just won the EFL Cup, play West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, while Palace return to Premier League action on Saturday away at Aston Villa.
