Yussif Basigi has officially parted ways with Hasaacas Ladies after 21 years.
The 52-year-old coach is set to take on a new challenge with Tanzanian club Simba Queens, signing a one-year contract.
Basigi’s journey with Hasaacas began in 2003, where he first earned his coaching badges before becoming head coach of the men’s team.
In 2013, he transitioned to coaching the women’s team, where he achieved remarkable success.
Under his leadership, Hasaacas Ladies won the inaugural Ghana Women’s Premier League and went on to claim five league titles in total, as well as an FA Cup victory in 2021.
He also led the team to a championship win in the first-ever WAFU B Women’s Champions League and secured a runner-up finish in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
As Hasaacas Ladies compete in the 2024 Women’s Premier Super Cup, assistant coach Mabel Baffoe Eshun has stepped in as interim head coach.
Basigi recently returned from coaching Ghana’s Black Princesses at the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
