Entertainment pundit Kwame Obeng Asare, widely known as A Plus, has lauded Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu for his initiatives in fostering unity among Ghana’s ethnic groups.
He applauded Otumfuo’s participation in the durbar of Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, in Accra, viewing it as a significant move towards uniting diverse communities.
Conversely, A Plus criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his inability to maintain cohesion within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), highlighting the resignation of Hopeson Adorye as a notable example of unresolved internal conflicts. He urged the president to adopt a more active role in promoting unity within the party and among ethnic groups to avoid creating adversaries.
“Otumfuo is uniting ethnic groups. Akufo-Addo cannot unite Hopeson Adorye and NPP! At 80, he still has enemies? Wei,” A Plus remarked on his Instagram page.
The event honoring Otumfuo featured a variety of cultural performances, celebrating the historic occasion of the Asantehene’s visit to the Ga state. In his address at the Ga Mantse Palace, Otumfuo stressed that his visit was intended to fortify the relationship between the Ga and Asante people and dispel any notions of rivalry.
The Ga Mantse expressed appreciation for the Asantehene’s support and called for peace and unity before, during, and after the forthcoming elections.
