Social media buzzed with activity after Wizkid addressed Don Jazzy as an influencer in response to alleged diss remarks from Mavin Records artist Ladipoe.
Ladipoe’s post about Afrobeats stars navigating their own “Afrobeats is dead era” after Nigerian hip hop’s “hip hop is dead era” drew attention from fans, particularly as Wizkid had previously commented on hip hop being dead, sparking criticism and responses from Nigerian rappers like Oladips and Zila Oaks who released diss tracks aimed at him.
During an online session with fans, Wizkid was alerted to Ladipoe’s comments, which some interpreted as targeting him.
However, Wizkid later clarified any potential tension with Don Jazzy, calling the legendary producer and label boss an “amazing human” in a tweet.

Don Jazzy, for his part, seemed unperturbed by Wizkid’s “influencer” remark, as he didn’t react to it.
He also expressed gratitude to Wizkid on social media after the Grammy winner shared the streaming link to Mavin signee Ayra Starr’s second album ‘The Year I Turned 21’.
