Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan’s name has been featured in Burna Boy‘s latest song featuring British rapper Dave.
Gyan is referenced in the track by Dave, who smoothly rhymes on the anticipated hit titled “Cheat on Me.”
The song is part of Burna Boy’s upcoming album scheduled for August 25 release.
Dave’s lyrics include, “I’m Asamoah Gyan, the way I hit the bar,” recalling Gyan’s 2010 World Cup penalty against Uruguay.
Gyan took to social media, sharing a fire emoji in reaction, indicating his endorsement of the song’s quality.
Dave is renowned for skillfully incorporating football references in his music, previously mentioning players like Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan Bissaka of Manchester United.
This marks Burna Boy and Dave’s second collaboration, with their initial joint effort “Location” becoming a global hit.
Meanwhile, Gyan’s passion for music is notable; he has collaborated with Ghanaian artists including reggae-dancehall star Stonebwoy.
At 37, Gyan retired from football in June, culminating a remarkable career exceeding two decades, as reported by the BBC.
