What Police found at crime scene in MCE’s daughter’s murder case

Recent developments reveal that the lifeless remains of the daughter of Bekwai’s Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Kwaku Kyei Baffour, was discovered behind their residence in Atwima Bebu, situated within the Ashanti Region.

Upon the arrival of the police at the scene, it was observed that both the communal spaces and private bedrooms had been subjected to a search. Notably, a television set was reported missing. Despite the absence of indications of forced entry, the investigation remains underway.

In an official statement issued by the Ghana Police Service and obtained by MyNewsGh.com, it was detailed that an inquiry into the circumstances encircling the demise of Akua Serwaa Kyei, an adult female, was initiated on August 3, 2023, in Atwima Bebu within the Ashanti Region.

The spouse of the deceased conveyed that upon returning home around 5:30 pm on August 3, 2023, he encountered his wife lying unconscious behind their residence.

Swiftly transporting her to a medical facility, her arrival at the hospital was accompanied by the pronouncement of her demise. Furthermore, the spouse asserted that their living quarters and sleeping area had been subjected to intrusion, with a television set being among the items missing.

Initial observations undertaken by the Police Crime Scene unit divulged that no points of entry, such as doors or windows, exhibited signs of forced access. Furthermore, during the medical examination of the deceased’s body, no evident signs of physical violence or gunshot injuries were discerned.

As the investigation persists, the deceased’s body has been conveyed to a mortuary for preservation, awaiting an autopsy. In collaboration with the bereaved family, the police have initiated consultations to unearth the truth and ensure the culpable parties are held accountable.

To provide support during this arduous period, the Inspector-General of Police communicated with the family through a telephonic conversation, pledging a thorough inquiry into the matter. Additionally, a Police clinical psychologist has been appointed to extend assistance to the family in navigating these challenging times.
