Husband of Afua Asantewaa, Mr. Aduonum urged authorities to rename Akwaaba Village after his wife, Afua Asantewaa, who garnered widespread support for her Sing-a-thon event, putting Ghana on the map.
Despite the community’s enthusiastic participation and the presence of numerous Ghanaian citizens and celebrities, Afua’s Guinness World Record attempt for the longest singing marathon fell short, as confirmed by the official statement from GWR.
GWR’s Tweet conveyed their regret, asserting, “Unfortunately, Afua’s Guinness World Record attempt was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon.”
The organization clarified that the evidence check was already underway when Afua requested priority service, leading to a refund of her payment.
In response to the outcome, Mr. Aduonum expressed his belief that Afua, who has made significant contributions to the country, deserves recognition and reward for her efforts.
