Video: See how Dr Bawumia and his campaign team celebrated his position on the ballot

A video that surfaced online captures the joyful reaction from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team upon learning that the New Patriotic Party candidate had secured the number one spot on the 2024 election ballot.

In the clip, Bawumia, surrounded by key party members on his campaign bus, is seen smiling and enthusiastically singing along to Kwabena Kwabena’s song “Number One.”

The highlife track was originally composed for Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2016 presidential campaign.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Electoral Commission conducted a ballot draw for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured the top spot on the ballot, while his key rival, former President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, landed the eighth position.

This ballot positioning has led to varied interpretations from supporters of both major parties and other contenders, with speculations on how it may influence voter perceptions and the outcome of the elections.
