On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II conducted the enstoolment ceremony of Nana Bona Kessetare II as the Abirahene, the chief of the Abira Traditional Area.
This significant event took place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
It’s worth noting that this marks the second enstoolment carried out by the Asantehene in recent months, following the destoolment of five chiefs in the Ashanti Kingdom.
A video capturing the moment of Nana Bona Kessetare II’s enstoolment, shared by Kumasi-based Opemsuuo Radio, depicted him taking an oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, holding a sword as a symbol of his commitment to selflessly serve his people.
Before the oath-taking, the Asantehene offered counsel to the newly enstooled chief, emphasizing the values of truthfulness and loyalty to the Ashanti land.
Additionally, he called upon the Abirahene’s kinsmen to provide support in his new role, working together to enhance the well-being of the people of Abira.
