A netizen has criticized Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority, accusing them of negligence in addressing online scams.
In a social media post, the user, known as X, described the authority as “useless” and claimed they were not taking sufficient action against scammers on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
The user expressed frustration at having personally reported several accounts attempting to scam them, only to be asked for evidence by the Cyber Security Authority, as seen in the conversations between the Authority and the citizen on WhatsApp.
The user suggested that the authority should take proactive steps, such as calling the numbers provided in scam reports and attempting to transact with the scammers to gather evidence.
Below are the chats between the netizen and the alleged scammer and the netizen and the Cyber Security Authority.
