Ukrainian model Sawa Pontyjska has filed a legal complaint against the Cannes Film Festival, alleging that she was assaulted by a security guard on the red carpet.
Pontyjska claims she was “brutally” restrained while trying to enter a cinema with a valid ticket, resulting in physical and psychological harm.
The incident, captured on video and widely viewed on TikTok, shows her struggling with the guard before being taken inside by additional security.
Pontyjska is seeking €100,000 in damages and has received no response from the festival organizers.
Other celebrities, including Kelly Rowland, Yoona, and Massiel Taveras, also reported altercations with the same guard. The festival’s strict rules on guest movement on the red carpet have been noted as a contributing factor.
