ECG launches monthly meter readings in the Volta,Oti regions for better billing accuracy

In a significant effort to address issues related to billing inaccuracies, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has launched a monthly meter reading program for its customers in the Volta and Oti Regions.

This initiative aims to ensure that billing accurately reflects actual electricity usage, responding to widespread concerns about the effectiveness of ECG’s previous quarterly billing approach.

Leading this initiative, Solomon Adjiku, the ECG’s Regional Commercial Manager, has been actively engaging with meter readers across various districts to emphasise the crucial role that accurate monthly readings play.

During these discussions, he stressed the importance of precise metre readings in fostering transparency and trust between ECG and its customers.

“Shifting to monthly readings will not only minimise billing errors but also foster improved communication with our customers,” Mr Adjiku stated.

“We want customers to feel assured that their bills reflect only the electricity they have used.”

The shift from quarterly to monthly meter readings in the Volta and Oti Regions is a key element of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.

By increasing the frequency of meter readings, ECG intends to minimise disputes related to estimated charges and offer customers clearer, more accurate bills that truly reflect their energy consumption.

Mr. Adjiku emphasised the importance of diligence among metre readers, urging them to strictly follow company protocols to maintain the highest standards of accuracy in their readings.

“Our dedication to accuracy directly affects our customer’s experience and confidence in our services,” he added, calling on the team to take pride in their role as an essential link between ECG and the community.

The new reading schedule being implemented by ECG is set to bring significant benefits to customers in the Volta and Oti Regions, enhancing transparency and operational efficiency.

This monthly billing initiative represents a significant step forward in ECG’s commitment to addressing customer concerns about billing accuracy and demonstrates the company’s dedication to evolving its services to meet the needs of its clients.

Furthermore, ECG urges all customers to pay their electricity bills on time, as timely payments are essential for the company’s ability to enhance and expand its services.

As ECG continues to innovate and adjust its practices, it aims to strengthen its relationship with customers in the Volta and Oti Regions, ensuring a more reliable and transparent billing experience for everyone.
