The recent events harken back to the arrest of Phyllis Naa Koryo Okunor, along with Mustapha Mohammed and Abdul Aziz Musah, the previous week.

The trio was apprehended while traveling in a Honda CRV saloon car with registration number GX-2044-19 near the Electoral Commission (EC) Office at Ofaakor. They were discovered in possession of a firearm associated with a stabbing incident involving Ato Koomson, the son of the current MP and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The incident reportedly occurred near the EC Office at Ofaakor in the Central Region. The police retrieved a pump-action gun with four rounds of ammunition from the vehicle, as outlined in their statement.

Naa Koryoo, however, clarified that the firearm in question is lawfully registered and justified her possession, “I have every right to protect myself because the happenings at Kasoa necessitate that I do so”.
