In 2017, BBC Hardtalk interviewed Alexei Navalny, a leader who opposes the government, before he tried to run against Vladimir Putin for president of Russia.
Navalny talked openly to Stephen Sackur about his feelings. He discussed his relationship with Putin, how corruption is a big problem in Russia, and what he wants for the future of the country.
“I’ve always been in trouble with the law my whole life,” Navalny said in a scary conversation. “They fight me in this way. ”
Sackur said the activist was being very careful, but if they push too hard, they might end up in jail.
