A video circulating on social media has captured the frustration of Tema Central residents as they voice concerns about the lack of development in their community.
Specifically, residents highlighted the dire state of the main street connecting to Tema Harbour, which has been neglected for an extended period.
Speaking, some residents revealed that the road’s condition has led to numerous accidents and vehicle damages, particularly concerning the frequent loss of car tires due to the poor road surface.
In an interview with United Television, a young man recounted the dangers posed by the road, emphasising the repeated complaints made to authorities without any significant action taken.
“It’s not just about inconvenience; lives are at risk on this road. We’ve raised our concerns repeatedly, but all we get is temporary fixes that wash away with the rain,” the man expressed.
Echoing this sentiment, another resident highlighted the financial toll, mentioning the substantial losses incurred by both commercial and private vehicles due to the hazardous road conditions.
Additionally, the road’s deterioration has led to illegal parking by Tipper trucks, exacerbating traffic congestion in the area.
Residents are now calling on authorities to urgently address the longstanding issues with the road infrastructure to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone using it.
