The Irish police, known as Gardaí, discovered what they believe to be human remains in a part of County Cork.
The garda found something near Whitegate village at lunchtime with the help of a dog.
The doctor will examine the body and use dental or DNA records to figure out who it is.
RTÉ says that police were looking in the surrounding area to find 47-year-old Kieran Quilligan, who disappeared from Cork City in September.
It is not clear if the discovery on Monday is connected to the big search.
A police officer said they are looking into finding what might be human remains.
“Police from Anglesea Street are currently in Rostellan, County Cork, where they found skeletal remains today. ”
A spokesperson said that they are still trying to figure out who the dead person is, and the area is still blocked off for investigation.
