Media personality Nana Romeo has raised eyebrows over Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale‘s strategic use of the media to promote his recently released album, “Konekt.”
The controversy stems from Shatta Wale’s past dismissal of the media’s significance in his career, prompting Nana Romeo to question the artist’s shift in approach.
In a recent interview on Asempa FM, Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, engaged in a media tour to promote the “Konekt” album, leading Nana Romeo to criticise the artiste’s change in stance.
Nana Romeo recalled Shatta Wale’s previous remarks, where he claimed not to need the media for his musical success.
“Shatta Wale once said he does not need the media because they have not helped him. If that is the case, then why is his manager embarking on a media tour to market his project?
“Shatta has insulted the media on several occasions so why is he using the same media to sell his project [promotion of his Konekt album]? It baffles me,” Nana Romeo stated.
Shatta Wale, in response to criticism, accused the media of influencing some of his fans negatively.
He emphasized the media’s role in misrepresenting his efforts to revive his career, asserting, “Most of you [Shatta Movement fans] were brainwashed with the media.”
Expressing his confusion, Nana Romeo questioned the inconsistency in Shatta Wale’s attitude towards the media, urging Shatta Wale’s manager to persuade the artiste to apologize for his disrespectful past remarks.
“I think his manager should talk to him to apologize to the traditional media for his misconduct.”
The headline encapsulates the essence of the news story, emphasizing Nana Romeo’s challenge to Shatta Wale’s approach to media promotion for the “Konekt” album.
