Outspoken media personality, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa known popularly as Afia Schwarzenegger has urged wife of late Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah, Lilian Kumah to refrain from public statements and focus on mourning her husband.

Afia Schwarzenegger emphasised the importance of observing a period of quiet reflection and respect for the deceased, cautioning against engaging with the media or addressing contentious issues before her husband’s burial.

She warned against succumbing to political pressures to speak publicly, highlighting the potential for inadvertently stirring controversy and advised Lilian Kumah to seek solace and guidance from her faith during this challenging time.

“The woman [Kumah’s wife] is a pastor, and I know she is not going to do politics, but she should keep quiet. If you follow politicians, you will end up making unnecessary remarks. How can you say, ‘Kumah, who was 45-years-old is better than others.

“Did she think about it? Let God guide your utterances as a pastor, and don’t speak anyhow. From what you said in the interview, the holy spirit had departed from you. Stop granting interviews and mourn your husband,” she said while speaking in a TikTok live session.

The socialite’s remarks came after Lilian Kumah’s interview with Accra-based Asaase Radio, where she responded to criticisms surrounding her husband’s demise, including questioning the authenticity of a prophetic prediction.

Contrary to speculation, an autopsy report confirmed that John Kumah’s death was not due to poisoning but resulted from a prolonged illness.

The 45-year-old deputy minister was a rising star in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), known for his entrepreneurial ventures, preaching, and legal expertise.

John Kumah’s untimely passing on March 7, 2024, has left a void in both political and personal spheres, survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.
