Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has urged fans to avoid harshly criticizing players, emphasizing that while feedback is welcome, it should be constructive.
He acknowledged the frustration felt by supporters due to the team’s recent poor performances in the Ghana Premier League but emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive atmosphere.
Ouattara also stressed that the fans are the lifeblood of the club and that their support is crucial for the team’s morale and progress, even during tough times.
“We are working for them (supporters). I understand when they criticise us. You can criticise us and say anything you like, but please do not insult us,” he said after their win over Bechem United.
Ouattara called for unity in the team, which he believes is the only element to lift the team to the next level.
“What we need is unity. We need to stay together, and if that happens, I think we can achieve a lot,” he added.
Hearts of Oak bounced back with a solid 2-0 victory over Bechem United on Sunday, September 22, 2024, marking their first win of the season after two consecutive losses.
They now aim to build on this momentum when they meet Nations FC in their upcoming match on Saturday, September 28, as part of the fourth round of fixtures in the league.
