Two Brighton supporters are hospitalised in Rome after being stabbed on the eve of their team’s Europa League match against AS Roma.
Reports from Italian media indicate that a restaurant employee alerted police shortly after midnight on Wednesday, reporting that two fans had entered seeking assistance after being stabbed nearby.
One of the fans sustained three wounds to his left thigh, while the other was stabbed in the right thigh.
Additionally, they reportedly had a backpack stolen, containing a wallet and documents.
The injured fans, aged 28 and 29, were transported to different hospitals in Rome for treatment.
AS Roma is set to host Brighton in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday.
