Chelsea is delighted to confirm the signing of center-back Tosin Adarabioyo, who will join the club for the 2024/25 season.
The 26-year-old has penned a four-year contract, commencing on July 1, and makes the switch from west London rivals Fulham.
After signing for the Blues, Tosin said: ‘Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me. I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there.
‘I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go.’
Co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart said: ‘We are delighted to bring Tosin to Chelsea. Throughout his career, he has showcased his maturity and defensive qualities and has gained a wealth of experience in the Premier League in recent seasons.
‘He is ready to make the step up to Chelsea and work alongside the talented players in our squad. We look forward to Tosin joining up with us for pre-season.’
Hailing from London but nurtured in Manchester, Tosin Adarabioyo commenced his football journey with Manchester City at the tender age of five. Progressing through the ranks, he notably captained the Under-18s at just 16 years old.
His professional debut unfolded at Stamford Bridge in February 2016. Tosin featured for a youthful Manchester City side in the FA Cup, later amassing seven more first-team appearances over the subsequent seasons.
Subsequent to successful season-long loan stints in the Championship with West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers, Tosin made a permanent move to Fulham in October 2020.
His inaugural campaign as a Premier League regular witnessed 33 appearances and widespread acclaim for his seamless transition to the top tier. Tosin’s pivotal role in Fulham’s promotion from the Championship was underscored by his 44 appearances the following season.
Since Fulham’s Premier League return, Tosin has amassed 45 top-flight appearances, aiding the club to respective finishes of tenth and 13th in the past two seasons.
