Ghanaian international, Tariq Lamptey, has commenced training with Brighton and Hove Albion as they prepare for the upcoming 2023/24 English Premiership season.
Lamptey had been sidelined due to a knee injury sustained in a league match against West Ham in March, causing him to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
Unfortunately, the former Chelsea right-back was also unable to participate in Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola in March.
In his absence, Kingsley Schindler, a German-born player, was selected by Black Stars coach Chris Hughton to fill the void.
Lamptey was also unavailable for Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on June 18, 2023, in Antananarivo.
Now, Lamptey has returned to training with Brighton and Hove Albion, aiming to regain fitness and contribute to the team’s efforts in the upcoming season.
Tariq Lamptey made 23 appearances in all competitions in the just-ended season, scoring just a goal.
The Brighton and Hove Albion man through the Tariq Lamptey Foundation, donated items including, jerseys and football boots to kids in Asamankese in the West Akim Municipal District, in the Eastern Region on Friday, May 30.
