Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice-President Fred Pappoe has stated that the GFA, government and the leaders of the playing body should agree on a fitting bonus package for the Black Stars.
According to Fred Pappoe, the stakeholders should also take into consideration the current economic situation in the country and not produce a package that will raise eyebrows.
The Black Stars of Ghana will play an international friendly against Switzerland before flying to Doha, Qatar.
Ghana is in Group H with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay. The Black Stars will play its first game against Portugal on 24th November.
“In matters of this nature I feel there are two important issues. One is timing of the decision making process and the second is the amount or quantum. I feel the timing is really important. What one has to do or I hope it has been done already is for the team, the FA and the government to come together of course with the leadership of the players to determine a very fitting bonus package for the team,” he said on Peace FM as monitored by footballghana.com
“When I say fitting I am not saying a bonus package that will be just one side that is players got what they want or government got what they want but it should be something which should be realistic. When you look at the economic climate now we have to come up with a figure that the players will be happy a bit that will be so unrealistic looking at what Ghanaians are going through now. All these factors will have to go into play,”
