Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asante Kotoko’s Patron, is reportedly preparing to announce a new Board of Directors for the club.
According to Nhyira FM, the official announcement is anticipated before the start of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season in September.
The club has been operating under an Interim Management Committee (IMC) for a year following the removal of the board led by Dr. Kwame Kyei.
The Club Licensing Committee’s regulations necessitate the establishment of a formal Board of Directors, as an interim body is not permitted to manage a club for more than one season.
The IMC, which has been managing the club’s affairs, included Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, a chartered accountant and Kontomponiaferehene.
Other members of the IMC were former Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, who served as the administrative manager.
However, Dasoberi resigned from his position before the season concluded.
