The coach of Nkoranza warriors, Frimpong Manso remembers recently deceased Opoku Afriyie as someone who likes bringing people together and upfront.
Opoku Afriyie had a glittering career in football, most notably winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana in 1978. He was a striker during his playing days.
In an interview with Peace Sports, Frimpong Manso recollects the attitude of Afriyie.
“He is someone who likes to bring people together. He is plain as well. If you do something he is not happy about, he will let you know immediately.â€
“Some people felt he was outspoken and because of that, authorities did not usually like him. The players understood him. Normally players like someone who fights for them and Afriyie does thatâ€.
