Chelsea’s spirits have been dampened by the unfortunate news that Mykhailo Mudryk will be sidelined for Friday’s match against Luton Town due to a fresh injury.
The injury list is getting longer with more players getting injured. Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, Marcus Bettinelli, as well as the Ukraine international, are all currently injured.
Chelsea shared the news about Mudryk on their official website and said that he is now starting his recovery after getting checked for an injury he got during training this week.
Mauricio Pochettino had to support Mudryk after another tough game wearing a Chelsea jersey in their 3-1 loss against West Ham recently. The Argentine coach believes that Mudryk, who was bought for £88. 5 million, will eventually perform well.
When asked what is the problem with Mudryk and what Pochettino thought of his performance, Pochettino said that Mudryk should try to be more motivated and focused on scoring.
He played for 45 minutes. He needs to keep playing consistently. But first, he needs to establish trust and consistency during the training sessions throughout the week.
He is a young player who we should believe in and give our trust to. We need to have faith in him so he can build a good relationship with us and the team.
‘He has a lot of skill and talent. I believe it won’t be long before he becomes more comfortable with the team and starts performing the way we want. ’
Pochettino became the head coach of Chelsea this summer. He wanted to improve the team’s performance after they finished in 12th place in the Premier League last season.
The previous manager of Tottenham still hasn’t won a game at Chelsea. He drew 1-1 at home against Liverpool and lost 3-1 against West Ham.
