Medeama SC has appointed Ibrahim Tanko as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Tanko takes over from Bosnian coach Nebojsa Kapor, who left the club by mutual agreement in December 2024.
In the interim, Evans Adotey managed the team, but he will now move into a new role as the club’s technical director.
Before joining Medeama, Tanko was the technical director of Accra Lions.
The former Borussia Dortmund player has a rich coaching background, having worked in Japan’s J-League and Germany’s Bundesliga.
He has also been an assistant coach for both Cameroon’s national team and Ghana’s Black Stars.
His first game in charge will be against Legon Cities in a Matchday 19 fixture at the TnA Stadium.
Medeama SC is currently in 7th place in the Ghana Premier League with 26 points.
