Ghanaian midfielder, Gladson Awako, known for his experience in the game, has offered crucial advice to both Medeama SC and Dreams FC as they prepare for their African campaigns.
Medeama SC, the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, will be representing the country in the CAF Champions League, while Dreams FC, winners of the MTN FA Cup, will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Awako urged both clubs and their supporters to temper their expectations ahead of the start of the CAF inter-club competitions.
“The performance of Medeama and Dreams FC in the just ended season wasn’t that bad, especially from where they (Medeama) emerged from to snap the league and how Dreams FC also snapped the FA Cup. But I will advise them to lower their expectations going to Africa,” Gladson Awako shared.
He continued, “My reason is premised on the fact that the quality in our league now cannot be compared to what we used to have in the past where Kotoko and Hearts dominated Africa.”
Tomorrow, both Medeama SC and Dreams FC will find out their respective opponents for the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup. The draw will determine which teams they will face as they begin their journey in the prestigious African club competitions.
