Man City’s 115-charge FFP hearing slated for Monday

The start date for Manchester City’s 115-charge Financial Fair Play (FFP) case has been officially set, with the club now preparing to face judgement.

The Premier League champions were informed in early 2023, after an extensive investigation, that they would face charges related to alleged financial violations.

These accusations date back to 2009, soon after Sheikh Mansour took ownership of the club.

Manchester City is accused of failing to provide accurate financial information, including details about player and manager payments.

Despite these serious allegations, the club, which made history last season by winning its fourth consecutive Premier League title, denies any misconduct and is defending its position in an independent inquiry.

Reports have long suggested that Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) hearing would start in September and conclude by the end of the year.

It has now been confirmed that the proceedings will commence on Monday, September 16th.

Once all evidence has been presented and arguments heard, a final verdict will be reached.

Speculation has grown around potential consequences for City, which could include point deductions similar to those imposed on Everton and Nottingham Forest last season, significant fines, or even relegation from the Premier League.

However, there is also a possibility that City could escape punishment as they continue to fight the charges in an attempt to clear their name.

The case’s resolution is not guaranteed to conclude by the end of 2025, especially if appeals prolong the process into the new year and beyond.
