Former Chelsea star Frank Lampard has showered praise on talented Manchester United teenager Kobbie Mainoo.
The England-born midfielder, of Ghanaian descent, has made a significant impact on the Red Devils’ team this season, solidifying his position as one of the most promising players globally.
Lampard’s commendation extends to comparing Mainoo favourably to established midfielders Rodri and Casemiro at a similar age.
The Chelsea legend asserts that Mainoo, despite his youth, surpasses the abilities of Rodri and Casemiro when they were at their stage of development.
In Lampard’s view, Mainoo has evolved into the backbone of the Manchester United team, showcasing remarkable skill and maturity beyond his years.
“I don’t think even Rodri or Casemiro were as good as he is at his age. He is the backbone of a club like Manchester United, as young as he is. I think he’ll outlive many big names,” Frank Lampard said.
At 18 years old, Kobbie Mainoo has already featured for England in junior national team competitions. However, he retains eligibility to represent the Black Stars of Ghana on the international stage.
