Frimpong, who plies his trade for Bayer Leverkusen has been in a rich vein of form, scoring five goals as a defender this season. It is not surprising he has earned a place in the Netherlands 38-man provisional squad.
With 27-days to the start of the mundial, the enterprising right-back has hit top form, which comes as a good news for the Dutch national team.
His inclusion means, the right-back will not feature for his native country, Ghana.
The Amsterdam-born defender was on target when his side shared the spoils with Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
He lasted the entire duration in Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg.
