Saddick Adams, the head of sports at Angel Broadcasting Network in Accra, has been blocked by the official Twitter account of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Saddick, who is one of the organisers of the ‘Fix Ghana Football’ demonstration scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2024, brought this development to light.
In a post on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Saddick sought clarification from the President and Communications Director of the GFA regarding the blocking.
He emphasised that he has never resorted to using abusive language towards the FA in his campaign for accountability and the revitalization of Ghanaian football. Therefore, he expressed confusion over the decision to block him.
Saddick Adams also sarcastically thanked the manager of the GFA’s Twitter account for the action taken.
Dear my brothers @kurtokraku and @MistarHAT I have never used any offensive words or abused or even tagged GFA on this space. I follow this handle to access information. Whoever is in charge of the handle that has blocked me, thank you very much.”.
As mentioned earlier, Saddick Adams is among the prominent sports journalists leading demonstrations to express their frustration over the state of Ghana football.
This group of respected journalists is deeply concerned about the continual decline of Ghanaian football and aims to use the protest as a platform to demand accountability from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the National Sports Authority, and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
They have obtained permission from the Ghana Police Service to conduct the protest on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024.
Notable figures within the group include Countryman Songo, Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah, Veronica Commey, and Dan Kwaku Yeboah, among others.
