Jude Bellingham may be in trouble with Carlo Ancelotti after he blanked the Real Madrid manager’s phone call.
Speaking to reporters, Ancelotti revealed he “got angry with Bellingham” over the weekend.
The Madrid boss said: “I called him and he didn’t pick up and I told Vinicius to call him and he picked up.”
Ancelotti might have initially been “angry” about Bellingham’s behavior, but the Madrid talisman will be relieved that his boss now seems to laugh about the incident.
Other managers might have misinterpreted Bellingham’s cold shoulder, but Don Carlo is known for his cool demeanor.
Bellingham, still on holiday after his Euro 2024 performances, is expected to return for the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14.
Since joining the club last summer, Bellingham and Ancelotti have generally had a good relationship. However, it hasn’t been entirely smooth.
The England international was controversially benched early last season, and his strong personality sometimes leads to clashes with other players.
It’s very likely that any tension between Bellingham and Ancelotti will be resolved before Madrid’s next pre-season match against Chelsea at the Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina.
Coming off a 2-1 defeat to their rivals Barcelona, Los Blancos will be eager to return to winning form.
