The Match Review Panel will examine the encounter between Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The game ended 1-1 at Dun’s Park, with the home team securing a point thanks to a questionable penalty.
In the Kotoko box, a throw-in to Bibiani looked to hit the arm of a Gold Stars player.
However, the referee, Franklyn Akumatey, pointed to the spot and awarded a penalty to Kotoko, whose astonished players promptly approached the referee to express their displeasure.
Yahaya Dramani of Bibiani converted the penalty to equalize Steven Mukwala’s earlier goal, securing a vital 1-1 draw.
The GFA announced in a statement on Wednesday that the game will be assessed by the Match Review Panel.
While sanctions against officials who erred in matches in past seasons were disclosed, a decision was made not to publish them this season, even though the punishments were carried out.
