Premier League club, Bechem United, has offered a GHC100,000 reward for information about the suspect who killed Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as “Nana Pooley.”
Pooley was stabbed during a Matchday 19 game between Nsoatreman FC and Kotoko at Nana Kronmansah Park.
On Monday, Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, named a man called Brimah as the suspect. Brimah is currently on the run, and the Ghana Police Service is searching for him.
Bechem United has taken a strong stand against hooliganism by offering this reward to help catch the suspect.
“Bechem United FC takes bold stand against hooliganism, offers GHC100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the murderer of late Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong (Nana Pooley),” the club stated.
Statement below:

After the tragic event, the Ghana Premier League has been temporarily halted. But the FA Cup Round of 16 games will still take place this weekend across the country.
In the meantime, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku is scheduled to visit Asante Kotoko on Thursday to discuss Pooley’s passing further.
