Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus has expressed his happiness after scoring his 4th goal in this season’s UEFA Champions League against Rangers on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old continued his fine form to the season as he found the back of the net and provided an assist to help the Dutch giants defeat Rangers 3-1.
Within four minutes, Kudus set up Berghuis for the first goal. He found the back of the net in the 29th minute to give the away team a 2-0 lead.
Rangers pulled one back in the 87th minute through James Tavernier who scored from the penalty spot but Ajax added their third goal in the encounter through Portuguese youngster Francisco Conceição.
“I am very happy and most importantly we got the win, so big credit to all the team. The goal happened so fast but I just moved the ball and struck it with my right foot.”
“Yeah it deflected but as a striker that’s what I need,” Kudus said after the game.
The Ghanaian played full throttle for Ajax in the false nine position. Ajax have six points after six games in Group A and will play in the UEFA Europa League.
Kudus scored 10 goals and registered two assists for Ajax in 18 games across all competitions this season.
