When Ajax defeated Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie over the weekend, Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus was in fine form.
The gifted young player made his team’s Sunday debut and maintained his excellent form from earlier in the year as his squad easily defeated the opposition 4-2 at the Abe Lenstra Stadium.
After just 10 minutes of the eagerly anticipated match, the visitors took the lead through Mohammed Kudus.
After connecting off a Kudus assist, Edson lvarez doubled Ajax’s lead four minutes later.
Steven Bergwijn scored Ajax’s third goal of the match in the 19th minute, but Pelle van Amersfoort scored the final goal of the first half for the home team.
After the break, Kenneth Taylor scored to extend Ajax’s lead in the encounter but Sydney van Hooijdonk find the back of the net in the 79th minute for the home team to make it 4-2 at the end of the game.
The form of Mohammed Kudus is good for the Black Stars especially as Ghana will face off with Angola in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament next week.
This season, the forward has 18 goals in all competitions for Ajax and has also provided six assists.
