The incident escalated an already tense situation, which had seen earlier confrontations on the pitch. During the match, a heated brawl erupted between players from Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
A video shared by spectator Hussein Adams captured Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara striking two Nsoatreman players on the sideline.
The conflict worsened when Kotoko captain Justice Blay joined in, clashing with multiple Nsoatreman players. Meanwhile, angry fans hurled objects at the visiting team.
The altercations led to both Camara and Blay receiving red cards, and Kotoko ultimately finished the match with only eight players. They were defeated 1-0.
