Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has secured the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards UK held at the Royal Regency in London on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The event witnessed the presence of music enthusiasts, fellow artists, and industry insiders.
Shatta Wale’s victory came after facing strong competition from notable nominees such as Black Sherif, Piesie Esther, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and King Promise. The Ghana Music Awards UK Artiste of the Year recognizes the outstanding contributions of the winner to the music industry throughout the year, and the ‘I Know My Level’ hitmaker fully met the criteria.
In addition to the Artiste of the Year accolade, Shatta Wale added more feathers to his cap during the night. He secured the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award and also claimed the Reggae Dancehall and Most Popular Song of the Year for his chart-topping track, ‘On God.’ This category featured fierce competition from renowned artists, including Epixode and Stonebwoy.
Furthermore, Shatta Wale was honored with the Most Dominant Fanbase of the Year award.
