RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has inked a fresh contract at the Red Bull Arena, as confirmed by the club on Wednesday.
This development comes amidst keen interest from top Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
According to ESPN’s report on Tuesday, negotiations between Sesko and Leipzig were nearing completion.
The young forward had garnered significant attention throughout the season, with Arsenal particularly active in scouting him and initially leading the pursuit before discussions with Leipzig intensified in recent days.
Sesko, 21, emerged as a sought-after talent across Europe following his impressive tally of 18 goals across various competitions last season.
Several Premier League outfits were considering activating his €65 million release clause.
“I had a good first year at RB Leipzig and am incredibly happy to be here,” Sesko said in a statement. “Team, club, city, fans—the overall package remains simply outstanding for me.
The early contract extension is therefore the logical step for me.“
