The Deputy Bono Regional Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Adjei, has strongly criticized NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, for making baseless allegations against John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 running mate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.
In a recent statement, Chairman Wontumi claimed that Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was secretly married to former President Mahama in 2012 and insinuated an ongoing affair between them, allegedly unknown to Mahama’s wife, Lordina Mahama.
Eric Adjei condemned these claims, labelling Chairman Wontumi as an irresponsible individual whose words should not be taken seriously in the political arena.
He emphasised that Wontumi lacks the qualifications and credibility to make such allegations and urged the public to disregard his statements.
Highlighting Prof Jane Naana’s significant contributions to society as a prominent female figure and role model, Eric Adjei stressed that her achievements should not be undermined by unsubstantiated political attacks.
He cautioned against taking Wontumi’s remarks seriously, accusing him of engaging in misinformation tactics.
Eric Adjei concluded by reaffirming the respect and admiration Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang commands, emphasizing that she should not be subjected to baseless accusations or political smears orchestrated by individuals like Chairman Wontumi.
“I’m saying that if we are to take somebody seriously in this country, not Chairman Wontumi, he is unserious , senseless and lacks manners. Prof. Jane Naana ought not to be messed with, her impact and achievement to society or the country at large is significant. Chairman Wontumi ought not to mess with her,” Eric Adjei stated.
