Suspects in a vehicle fired at the guard around 02:00 EDT (06:00 GMT) before fleeing.
It’s uncertain if Drake was home or targeted.
Inspector Paul Krawczyk mentioned ongoing cooperation with Drake’s team and withheld details due to video quality.
The victim is hospitalized in serious condition.
Mayor Olivia Chow condemned the violence, urging law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident occurs amidst a heated feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, marked by “diss tracks.”
