Sarkodie unveiled his collaboration with Amakye Dede, releasing the song on December 1, 2023. The live performance premiered at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Exhibition in Osu.

In a post on X on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the two-time BET winner lauded Amakye Dede as a trans-generational icon, expressing admiration for the “amazing music” he had enjoyed since his early days as a toddler.

Sarkodie noted it was “a great honour” to be on what, he recognised, was Amakye Dede’s first ever collaboration in a career which is more than three decades old.

“He was a global icon even before I was brought [in]to this world and he’s still an icon…

“Thank you Daddy [Amakye Dede]…

“We performed our new song ‘For for You’ at the #RapperholicExhibition,” Sarkodie, touted as the Landlord, wrote.

A two-minute video of Amakye Dede touring his exhibition was attached by him. The video’s last segment showed a wine and dine event that featured a live performance of their band collaboration.

In 2021, Daniel Amakye Dede made hints about working with Sarkodie during an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show in Accra.

“It’s a wonderful piece of music that will be released soon,” commented the Akwadawesoa hitmaker. He reminisced about sharing the stage with Sarkodie several times, both locally and internationally.

Dede highlighted that he chose to collaborate with Sarkodie due to his talent and character.

“He’s very good and very respectful so I chose to collaborate with him,” he said.
