Media personality Ola Michael recently shared his insights on the controversy surrounding the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s concert at the University of Ghana. The event was called off by the university authorities due to a lack of proper information from the organizers.
Following the cancellation, Shatta Wale’s team accused Stonebwoy of influencing the decision to avoid a clash with his own concert at the same venue. However, Stonebwoy denied any involvement in the cancellation, emphasizing that he had no authority to influence such decisions.
During a discussion on Neat FM in Accra on June 13, 2024, Ola Michael criticized Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, for mishandling the situation. Michael pointed out that Sammy Flex’s remarks were suggestive and seemed to blame Stonebwoy for the cancellation, which he found misleading and inflammatory, provoking Shatta Wale’s subsequent outburst against Stonebwoy.
Michael clarified that the confusion originated from the TF Hostel representatives who misrepresented the nature of the event to the university authorities, claiming it was a karaoke night instead of a concert. This misinformation led Sammy Flex to believe that Stonebwoy was involved in the cancellation.
He also criticized Sammy Flex for not verifying the information with the dean of students before reporting it to Shatta Wale, which escalated the situation unnecessarily.
In light of these facts, Ola Michael questioned whether Sammy Flex would issue apologies to Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and others affected by the misinformation. He emphasized the need for accountability and suggested that Sammy Flex should apologize on behalf of Shatta Wale for spreading false information.
Overall, Ola Michael’s analysis highlighted the importance of accurate communication and responsible management in handling such controversies within the entertainment industry.
