Cristiano Ronaldo has allegedly formally requested that Al-Nassr extend his current contract with them until 2027.
The 38-year-old forward, who became the world’s highest-paid footballer with a lucrative two-and-a-half-year deal in January, estimated at £177 million per year, is reportedly planning a two-year extension.
His current contract with the Saudi Pro League team is set to expire in 2025. Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, aims to continue playing until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Al-Nassr is expected to make an official announcement soon to confirm Ronaldo’s request, as the player has experienced a career rejuvenation since joining the Saudi club.
In a related development, Cristiano Ronaldo has joined a group of investors committing over $40 million to develop UFL, a new free-to-play soccer video game.
Ronaldo, contributing financially to shape the game’s development, expressed excitement about being part of the project, which aims to redefine football gaming in the coming years.
Although no official release date has been announced for UFL, testing is set to begin in the autumn.
Previously, it was reported that Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne expressed his preference between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, choosing the “GOAT” and indicating whom he would prefer to play with.
