The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammy Awards, are launching an African version of the prestigious award.
This move follows extensive collaborations with key stakeholders and government ministries across Africa and the Middle East.
The initiative aims to support music creators through advocacy, training, original content creation, and strengthening IP legislation.
The Academy will also publish reports highlighting insights into these music markets.
This expansion aligns with the Academy’s mission of fostering a global music community and follows the recent creation of the Best African Music Performance category at the Grammy Awards.
