Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) appears to have changed its stance on Kylian Mbappe’s future and is now determined to retain the French forward, despite his initial desire to leave the club.
Mbappe’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and PSG had given him until July 31st to either extend his contract or be sold during the summer transfer window.
According to reports from Football Transfers, PSG is now prepared to offer Mbappe a lucrative “mega contract,” which has already received approval from the Emir of Qatar, who oversees the club’s owners, QSI.
This new contract is said to be worth an astonishing €1 billion and would effectively tie Mbappe to PSG for the long term, with a proposed duration of 10 or 11 years.
Last season, Mbappe had already signed a substantial deal with PSG, ensuring him an annual gross salary of €70 million, along with significant bonus payments, including an €80 million bonus payment scheduled for this summer.
With this new development, PSG is ready to face competition from Real Madrid, who have been keen on acquiring Mbappe.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has been included in Paris Saint-Germain’s preseason squad despite the uncertainties surrounding the Frenchman’s future at the club, Get Football reports.
The club’s new summer signings Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio, Lee Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour and Milan Skriniar have also been included in the squad while Neymar misses out.
PSG will face newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Le Havre at their brand-new Campus training centre at Poissy this Friday for their first pre-season game under new manager Luis Enrique.
